Project #2: Altered Books

For this project, we had to use a book to create a three dimensional sculpture, using techniques such as cutting and folding.  Using a financial accounting textbook, I created a rose with leaves.

  1. Excellent documentation of the process and interesting narrative of the methods and techniques you have chosen with the construction challenges presented with each materials.

Both projects were very successful in transforming (a) the mass, volume and shape of a book into a beautifully crafted organic form, a rose, (b) a flat white surface into a 3D guitar, exploring positive and negative space achieving visual and structural balance.
